Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations, utensils, and equipment.
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen tools using manual or dishwashing equipment.
- Ensure proper storage of food items, ingredients, and kitchen supplies.
- Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries of food and kitchen supplies.
- Dispose of waste and maintain clean waste disposal areas.
- Support kitchen staff during busy service periods.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Help with arranging ingredients and preparing kitchen stations before food preparation.
- Perform other kitchen support duties as assigned by chefs or supervisors.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High school Diploma
- Previous experience in kitchen operations or food service is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Good verbal & Written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers, management and immediate surrounding colleagues.
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the company standards.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
